✅ True

“O Salt Lake City Tribune reportou esta semana grandes números de mórmons convertendo-se ao catolicismo”

O Salt Lake City Tribune de fato publicou artigo em 22 de agosto de 2026 sobre conversões de mórmons ao catolicismo. A matéria 'Becoming Catholic: Utahns share their conversion stories' documenta casos reais. Outras fontes confirmam o fenômeno, incluindo blog católico mencionando 'growing number of conversions from the Mormon community' em Salt Lake City.

❓ Undetermined

@Holler_Praetor @jakececklund @ElijahForCA @CatholicArena He could consider himself what ever he wants. Fact, he was an apostasy, and directly contributed to the organization of a water down version of Catholicism known as Anglican.

@FredVHayek 2026-08-24 17:05

@artMISSIONARY @CatholicArena "The Book of Mormon is true scripture." Do you actually believe that a guy named Joseph Smith, a polygamist 30 times over, was a producer of true scripture? Like Muhammad before him, he was mostly inspired by his loins, not God.

@Ruminations01 2026-08-24 18:49

@catholiccom @CatholicArena @ShamelessPopery That’s such a good title. Mormonism might be the strongest case for “I just take things at face value” faith I’ve ever seen. I’ve seen their process and they hide so much until they’ve got you, surround you with false positivity & community until you doubt your doubt.

@bookmormonturbo 2026-08-24 18:56

@Primary_Pianist @CatholicArena If these alleged converts weren't attending the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Sunday meetings, will they actually go to Catholic mass?

@Lovemyproxy 2026-08-24 19:15

@joejoe419723966 Grammatically, calling Peter and then saying THIS rock, is not the same person. If Jesus would have said, or if it was written, "YOU the rock", then I would agree. The word "THIS" does not notate that Jesus was calling Peter the rock. Jesus was talking about himself. cont

@Lovemyproxy 2026-08-24 19:18

@joejoe419723966 No one says, "You, THIS person." When using the word "this" it notates personal and internal or on someone. Jesus was talking about himself, because HE is the rock. Peter and other prophets taught this. If Peter was the rock of the church, it would have been Peter's church.

@joejoe419723966 2026-08-24 19:23

@Lovemyproxy In Aramaic, they do almost exactly that. He said. "You are the Rock and on this Rock I will build my Church" (Ant hu Kepha, wə-‘al hada Kepha ebne eth ‘edathi)

@joejoe419723966 2026-08-24 19:23

@Lovemyproxy Kepha (with an "a" at the end) means "the rock." So really he is saying "you are the Rock and on this "the Rock" I will build my Church" Keph would have been "a rock," rather than "this rock."

@Yossarian_Lives 2026-08-24 19:29

@CatholicArena Mormonism has as much theological credibility as Islam. "Angel" reveals God's plan to one man, in secret, with no witnesses. Man is final prophet with no "takesybacksies." It's "trust me bro" theology. That being said, Mormons are far nicer than Muslims. I'd rather live in

@artMISSIONARY 2026-08-24 19:37

@TribeRuffner @joejoe419723966 @CatholicArena All the apostles were killed but John who they tried to kill and put in prison. So the church did fall, but it has sense been restored.

@artMISSIONARY 2026-08-24 19:38

@TribeRuffner @CatholicArena Proven? No one has proven the Book of Mormon anything.

@joejoe419723966 2026-08-24 19:39

@artMISSIONARY @TribeRuffner @CatholicArena Ah, so they just didn’t appoint successors. Sounds like they let the Church fall, and let the gates of hell prevail for 1500 years. I’m shocked that Jesus didn’t remind them to appoint successors to lead their flocks!

@TribeRuffner 2026-08-24 19:42

@artMISSIONARY @joejoe419723966 @CatholicArena You literally have no idea what you’re talking about

@Lovemyproxy 2026-08-24 19:42

@joejoe419723966 Again, the verse does not indicate was the rock Peter. It only seems like it because, almost poetic, Peter's name is translated to rock. That's the confusion. The two phrases do not state that Peter was the/a rock of the church. cont

@TribeRuffner 2026-08-24 19:43

@artMISSIONARY @CatholicArena No it’s proven that it’s literally made up. Same with the book of Abraham. Fake. Made up. Not historically factual.

@TribeRuffner 2026-08-24 19:43

@joejoe419723966 @artMISSIONARY @CatholicArena Jesus let the Body of Christ detach itself from the head. According to mormons.

@Lovemyproxy 2026-08-24 19:44

@joejoe419723966 Think about it. Why on earth would the prophets all this time teach that Jesus is the rock, that he would have his church, then later, in the bible, Jesus teaches something else, that Peter is the rock of the church? In my church and beliefs, Jesus is the rock of the church.

@joejoe419723966 2026-08-24 19:49

@Lovemyproxy Peter’s given name was Simon, not Peter. It’s not ironic or poetic. He was nicknamed “the rock” by Jesus. “Petros” is literally just a Greek translation of Jesus’ nickname for him. John 1:40-42

@joejoe419723966 2026-08-24 19:52

@Lovemyproxy Also, he was speaking directly to Peter when he said that https://t.co/gzSNyE46tZ

@GarrettJohnnie 2026-08-24 19:57

@CatholicArena Because they are so similar.

@joejoe419723966 2026-08-24 20:00

@Lovemyproxy Like, it literally says “you are Peter (Kepha, the rock) and on this Rock I will build my Church.” What are you smoking?

@Lovemyproxy 2026-08-24 20:02

@joejoe419723966 Jesus gave his followers "new names". Not nicknames. Your scripture shows what I'm trying to explain to you. Doesn't matter if Jesus was speaking only to Peter, it's still written "on THIS rock I will build my church." Again, Jesus is the rock on which he built his own church. https://t.co/wyF92oF9XZ

🖼️ 1

@joejoe419723966 2026-08-24 20:07

@Lovemyproxy New name/nickname: your quibble just reinforces my point, actually. He literally calls him “the rock” in the same sentence that he says “this rock.” He didn’t say “you are the rock, and I am the rock on which I will build my church” he said “you are the rock and on this rock”

@joejoe419723966 2026-08-24 20:08

@Lovemyproxy Like there is only one rock being referenced in the sentence, or the Gospel writers would have indicated which rock he was talking about.

@artMISSIONARY 2026-08-24 20:12

@DrAimeeSmith @CatholicArena It wasn't preserved. That lower case "T" in the center of your church is the graven image of the Roman Sun God named, "Sol Invictus".

@Lovemyproxy 2026-08-24 20:14

@ChirpnChickadee @CatholicArena It wasn't destroyed, it was restored.

@joejoe419723966 2026-08-24 20:16

@Lovemyproxy The masculine/feminine distinction doesn’t track in Aramaic, which was what Jesus was speaking when he said the sentence. Jesus didn’t say the sentence in Greek. He said it in Aramaic.

@joejoe419723966 2026-08-24 20:17

@joejoe419723966 2026-08-24 20:18

🖼️ 1

@Lovemyproxy 2026-08-24 20:21

@joejoe419723966 I didn't highly the masc/fem. I highlighted the meanings of the words.

@Lovemyproxy 2026-08-24 20:23

@joejoe419723966 Did I highlight the masc/fem? That wasn't the point. The point was the meaning of the words and phrases. Doesn't matter if it was aramaic, greek, etc. The masc/fem gender of the word has nothing to do with the actual phrase. It's the way the sentence was written and taught.

@joejoe419723966 2026-08-24 20:25

@Lovemyproxy I’m not assuming (2), actually. I’m speaking specifically of that sentence, which makes no sense if Jesus is talking about a “rock” other than Peter. Regarding (1) you’re forgetting that Jesus spoke Aramaic, not Greek, and failing to recognize how the early Church interpreted it
